Rejected petition Make all sanitary products FREE in the UK/Ireland

I want action taken upon this because it’s an important step to begin the tackle of “period poverty.”

It is unfair for women of all ages to have to pay for items they need for something that is unable to controlled or something we do not want to have.

I want this to be taken into consideration because the average periods lasting from five days to over a week, it can cost up to £8 a month for tampons and pads, and some women struggle to afford the cost. This is supported by the Children’s charity Plan International who found that 10% of girls in Britain have been unable to afford sanitary products.

With Scotland being the FIRST ever country to make sanitary products free what is stopping us?
