Rejected petition Repatriation of Benin Bronzes, and all African artefacts returned.

The most iconic pieces are the Queen Idia collection which has 5 Pendant mask regalia, carved from ivory.
We want these pieces returned in 2022 after centuries of not being on home soil.

More details

We want the Government or Parliament to amend the British Museum Act 1963 to allow the Trustees to accept repatriation requests for artefacts, starting with the Benin Bronzes, ivory masks and other pieces acquired during the colonial era.
France's President Emmanuel Macron, for example oversaw the restitution of 26 artefacts back to Benin and has expressed plans in 2021 to return more historical treasures back to the continent.
