Rejected petition Cancel Vehicle Tax Increase
Cancel Vehicle Tax Increase for people who have an annual turnover of less than £ 30,000.
More details
This vehicle tax increase not many people can afford it. By increasing this tax, many people and children will suffer. I do not agree with this increase and believe that the tax increase should be applied to people and companies with an annual turnover of more than £ 30,000. The government cannot force people who cannot afford another car to pay a tax increase. A car after 2010 is just a dream for many of them. Many people work hard for £ 200 weekly. They own a car between 2002 and 2003 and will have to pay an increased tax? From £ 200 weekly? What about if they have a child or two? What will they eat if they raise taxes again and again?

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Vehicle Tax/Vehicle Excise Duty is paid per vehicle and not based on income. We're not sure if you want VED to be decreased or for it to be means tested.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
