Petition VAT on Flood Damage repairs

VAT on repairs needed as a result of flood damage should be diverted to ensuring fair and full funding of :-

a) future new flood relief schemes and maintenance of existing defences

b) assistance to relieve the stress and hardship caused by flood damage

c) ensure that the cost of failing to maintain adequate flood defences or control development in flood plains does not fall upon Local Authorities as a result of loss of Council Tax income

d) ensuring future flood protection insurance can be provided at reasonable cost to the affected properties without the need of a insurance surcharge on the premiums all homes or businesses
