Rejected petition Notify biological parents if their child becomes known to Social Services
Biological parents who are not the main carer are not currently notified if their child becomes involved with social services. I want them to be formally informed as soon as social services are aware of a problem with their child.
More details
To give absent biological parents the chance to be involved in whatever problem/s their child is facing and prevent a tragedy happening and not just find out when it’s too late.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We understand you're concerned about whether and how biological parents are informed about what's happening to their child. However it's not clear under which circumstances a biological parent would be told of their child 'becoming known' to child services, nor who you mean by 'biological parents' in this context i.e. would this apply to parents of adopted children, those whose children had been removed by the courts, or someone else.
You could have a petition calling for a review of how biological parents' needs are met through the care system, if that is something you'd like to see happen.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
