Petition remove traffic officers from motorways

In order to keep the motorway network running smoothly, I propose that the position of Highways Agency Traffic Officer be abolished, and their duties returned to the police, who are professionals in the matter.
This would reduce the enormous delays presently caused by over zealous highway patrols closing entire motorways for trivial reasons.
