Closed petition Government to Underwrite Flood Insurance Excess

Following the recent flooding that has affected large parts of our great nation, homeowners and landowners are experiencing higher insurance premiums and large flood insurance excesses.

Debate to take place ASAP to decide on how the government can underwrite these excesses in the short term, while it works with the insurance industry to develop a better solution than Flood RE.

Also, give a commitment to a long term plan for water management in the country as a whole, along with a clear statement, delivered in language free from electioneering, blame and ambiguity, that will describe how all the agencies will work together to achieve a long term solution, along with the methods of measuring the results, accountability and an outline of the penalties for failure.
