Petition Withdraw proposed changes to planning rules in National Parks

More details

Planning changes allowing barn conversions without planning permission in protected areas will lead to tens of thousands of 'luxury' and 'second homes'. Changes to planning rules in National Parks will have a “devastating” effect on areas of outstanding natural beauty and “destroy” rural communities.
The Government is planning to introduce new rules suggested by the planning minister Nick Boles, permission for the conversion of such buildings would be automatically granted without any need for an application.
However National Parks, the Campaign for Rural England and the National House Building Federation oppose the plans which will
lead to a huge increase in holiday homes and will “shift the balance” away from farming.
