Rejected petition The UK government must fulfil it's promises on halal and kosher certified items
It is strictly forbidden for many Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Christians to consume any form of halal or kosher certified material. Without proper labelling we could be consuming it without knowing. All we are asking for is clear prominent labelling so we can make an informed choice.
More details
The government promised there would be more opportunity to label such products post Brexit (1). There was also a public consultation (2) I want to see "Religiously slaughtered" on the top right hand corner of meat & halal or kosher underneath. Non Religiously slaughtered meat should be labelled as such. Halal certified non meat items e.g. Mars Bars should also be labelled

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about the labelling of certain products, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
Your petition calls on the Government to "fulfil it's promises on halal and kosher certified items", but the Government has not committed to introduce mandatory labelling of halal or kosher certified items.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
