Rejected petition Make it a legal right for the public to counter charge for wrongly issued fines.
Anyone wrongly issued a fine (and can prove it) should be automatically (legally) allowed to counter charge the claimant for the same fine and payment terms imposed on them. This will not only put some responsibility on the big companies but also help mental health and cost of living.
More details
Companies are constantly issuing fines whenever then can. Even when the fines have no grounds or it’s an admin error. The defendant is generally the only one at a loss as a result, having to find time in their day to prove their innocence. Rather than companies/agencies being more responsible and lowering the risk of ‘admin errors’. This is another issue ontop of the cost of living. Taking time out of peoples days to prove their innocence also costs money.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you're concerned about rights to redress where someone has been wrongfully fined, but we're not sure exactly what fines you're concerned about. Your petition refers to companies issuing fines, so we're not sure if you're just concerned about fines issued by private businesses (like parking companies and banks), or all fines (such as those issued by Government agencies or the courts).
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
