Legislation needs to be passed to give councils housing departments & Resident Social Landlords the authority to rehouse tenants that rent their property and are underoccupying their homes into smaller properties that fit their needs exactly. For example a married couple with no dependants from a 3 bed house into a studio flat or one bedroom property.
This would void the need for bedroom tax and mean tenants are moved faster.
