Rejected petition Provide free sanitary products in universities, the workplace and public toilets
Provide free sanitary products (tampons and pads) in all public toilets, no matter the gender. This should also happen in the workplace and in universities all across England. They can be placed by sinks and in individual cubicles for easy access.
More details
In the average lifetime of a person who bleeds, they will spend £4916 just on sanitary products and this is only for one person. There is also a variety of flows so some will spend a lot more than others. With the cost of living on the rise, people will be finding it even more difficult to have access to the products they need. This will lead to more people missing education, work and personal plans. Period poverty is a very real thing and needs to be sorted and addressed. Providing free products will help to do so.
