Get Active have been helping residents of County Durham to become more active for over 10 years - supporting over 25,000 people during this time.

Durham County Council Public Health have decided to no longer fund Get Active from August 2014 - despite providing consistent successful results for local people and value for money.

Get Active support a wide range of people, from 2 years olds all the way up to frail older adults, from stroke and heart attack survivors to post-natal women and from schools to care homes.

Without Get Active, a number of these groups will no longer receive the specialist support they need to become active and lead a healthier life.

We need the government to review the decision-making process undertaken by Durham County Council - especially in relation to the way ring-fenced public health funding is being spent
