When a partner in a marriage inherits from a will, that inheritance should be ring fenced in the case of a divorce or separation for the benefit of the person who inherited it. Not as is now the case taken into account of the couples total assets. The law needs changing to protect the hard earnings of previous generations so that the people who were intended to benefit do so.
