This petition was submitted during the 2010-2015 parliament
Rejected petition Members of parliament must sit quietly and listen to debates, rather than shut and geer.
More details
At school you are expected to listen quietly and raise your hand when you want to speak.
Why don't members of Parliament?
They are the first to point out poorly behave pupils, yet what kind of example are they setting?
These leaders of our country should be seen as role models. Not huffing and puffing wind bags; people who clearly do not have the common respect to sit quietly, listen to the debate and wait their turn to speak.
If, in The House, they were not allowed to shout and geer, debates would become more efficient. Members would be taking small steps into becoming better role models, and perhaps things might get done a little quicker.
