Increase funding for social care services for adult and children. This could help reduce costs of prolonged hospitalisation and reduce burden on GP and specialist services, and so reduce waiting lists

Too much money is wasted with adults and children being stuck in expensive hospital beds, because of a lack of social care provision to support the vulnerable with high level of needs on discharge. This is costing the tax payer and blocking beds for other people with acute illnesses, as well as causing trauma, institutionalisation and worsening physical and mental health for patients trapped in hospital settings. Invest in social care services to support people in the community.
