Ofsted inspection of schools is intended to drive school improvement. In fact, high stakes accountability, single word ratings, lack of a proper appeals process, changing criteria, apparent inconsistency, 'limiting judgements' and an approach which seems to care little for the wellbeing of staff or children means they can cause immense harm. There must be a better way.
