TO mandate that there be double white lines one hundred meters either side of a junction and one hundred meters either side of any pedestrian crossing in order to make highway code rule 165 with respect to overtaking the closest vehicle to a pedestrian crossing and rule 167 with respect to not overtaking when approaching a road junction crystal clear to drivers
