2) Council Tax is by far the most unfair tax, it is applied without regards to income/earnings to all properties at a fixed rate, needing a complicated benefit and relief system to support pensioners and those on lower to middle incomes and living alone. By Scraping the council Tax and replacing it with a low percentile local sales tax payable to local authorities will make those who spend more pay more and by charging no tax on food and children’s items low income families will be removed from this unfair burden.
