Rejected petition Review the Special Needs Education System

This education system means autistic people and people with SEND are made to suffer alone before getting help.

The system really is broken and not fit for purpose.

No parent should ever have to fight for their child.

System level reform is required to achieve real change.

More details

I want to end the suffering of autistic people and people with SEND. No parent should ever have to fight for their child and no autistic child or with SEND should have to suffer alone just because the education system stops them getting help.

Why was this petition rejected?

We can't publish petitions when the request is something that's already happening or something that has been announced since you started your petition.

We think your petition is covered by Government or Parliament action already. If you'd like something else, you could start a new petition clearly explaining what it is.

The Government has recently published a plan which aims to ensure children and young people across England with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) or in alternative provision (AP) will get high-quality, early support wherever they live in the country.

You can find out more about this here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/transformational-reform-begins-for-children-and-young-people-with-send

If there is a specific action you want the Government to take to improve education for SEND children you could start a petition about that.
