Closed petition Ban media publishing personal details of alleged offenders before conviction
Closed on
We want the Government to ban media reporting of personal information - including name, picture, workplace, address - or alleged offenders before they are convicted. Even if someone is found innocent their future and reputation can be ruined by media coverage of allegations and a trial.
There are too many cases where the media publish personal details, including workplace, home address, photos and family, of alleged offenders. This can ruin that person's even if a not guilty verdict is reached.
