Closed Protection of GMC/NMC Professional Duty of Candour

I hereby petition Mr. David Cameron and the Attorney General's Office to legislate to protect the professional duty of candour incumbent upon General Medical Council and Nursing and Midwifery Council registrants, specifically in relation to:

a. The Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998
b. The Data Protection Act 1998
c. Protection of Vulnerable Adults Government Policy

Currently reporting allegations of abuse "without delay" is not possible under the Data Protection Act, resulting in a professional duty of candour becoming a further burden upon the whistleblower.
