Petition Immediate UK Intervention in the Central African Republic

More details

The 2012 rebel-led coup has given way to brutal sectarian violence and massive human rights violations, horrific gang rapes, murder and brutality designed to drive the Muslim population from CAR.

Although the UN Security Council has approved the deployment of 10,000 troops and almost 2,000 police for a new United Nations peacekeeping mission, they will not deploy until September 2014.

Support the immediate deployment of UK peacekeeping troops to the Central African Republic.

Provide support to the current peacekeeping forces present in CAR, to ensure that they are deployed in sufficient numbers and have all the necessary resources to support civilians in need of protection.

Support the swift deployment of UK police units, to support and build the capacity of remaining CAR police forces.

Provide humanitarian assistance for refugees and internally displaced persons in need.
