Currently, benefits only cover one-bed accommodation costs for parents who don't receive Child Benefit for their child, which hinders their ability to provide equal care for their children. Both parents should be given the same support to provide appropriate accommodation for their children.

We urge the government to recognize the importance of shared parenting by considering both parents' circumstances and ability to provide appropriate accommodation for their children, and allow non-resident parents to claim housing costs for bedrooms for their children.
