Closed petition Increase the National Speed Limit on Motorways to 85mph from 7pm-7am daily

Raise motorway speed limits to 85pm from 7 pm - 7 am because during quieter periods we think the modern technology of new cars makes it safe to driver at higher speeds.

When the motorways are not at their busiest, we think it makes sense to allow slightly higher speeds. Motorways are designed for safe high-speed driving, and we think people generally expect that. Many European countries have higher national speed limits, and we think increasing motorway speed limits at certain times would enhance consistency and travel experiences for all.
