Closed petition Fund egg freezing on the NHS for women with MRKH/DSD

Closed on

Currently there are is no universal provision for women with Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) Syndrome or Differences in sex development (DSD) to freeze their eggs. Provision is up to individual NHS integrated care boards, and most do not offer egg freezing to people with these conditions.

For women with eggs but who are still infertile there needs to be funding for provision of egg freeing on the NHS.

Around 1 in every 4,500 women has MRKH and the UK Government has an obligation to consider the fertility rights of these women. Without the money for private egg freezing, an option not viable for many, there are often no options for women with MRKH or DSD. These women are not less deserving of families. The UK Government is responsible for protecting its people’s interests.
