Closed Stop charging extra for monthly direct debit or 6-monthly Car Road Tax

It is understandable that every driver has to pay car tax to drive on the UK roads. However, I don't think there is a need for the DVLA to charge extra if one decides to pay for six months tax instead of a full year, or pay it monthly by direct debit.

If any paperwork is involved in the process then I think it is only fair for the DVLA to charge for the postage fee.
