Petition Stop evictions and prevent homelessness

Housing benefit support is there for those in need. It needs to be paid at the time point start of the need NOT in arrears and any changes in circumstance should be an on going titration of support not stopped and recalibrated. The system is creating shortfall in rent payments leading to accumulative arrears with those that have zero assets and creating a situation of private landlords evicting tenants with no further housing offered because of those arrears...creating homelessness thus neglecting the human right for shelter.. We also urgently need more social housing to meet the needs of the growing population.
