As most crime in this country is either directly or indirectly caused by the drugs trade, (addicts and dealers), the targetting of drug gangs will reduce crime significantly. So give the Police force as many resources as are needed to accomplish significant results. The armed forces could provide armed assistance when needed, once they return from foreign conflicts.
