Petition Stop charges for collection of child maintenance
More details
The government has abolished the CSA and introduced the CMS and introduce a joining fee of £20 to use the service and charges to both parents for using it - if you are not able to make an agreement yourselves
The government should be made to justify the level of proposed charging to both parties - 20% to the paying parent and 4% to the receiving parent. On a payment of £200 the paying parent pays £40 and the receiving parent £8 - that is £576 per year - excessive even if a processing charge is necessary. This service is vital and shouldn't cost so much that it makes it's use unattractive or impossible for those that need it. This will take money away from children, who are often vulnerable and need it. If parents were able to be amicable this agency - whatever called would not be involved.
