Remove or revise stamp duty to encourage and support home ownership. At the very least the stamp duty thresholds should be raised given the current average house price. If stamp duty has to be paid it should only be payable on the amount above the relevant duty threshold e.g. if a house costs £126,500 then stamp duty of 1% should only be paid on £1,500 NOT the whole amount.
