To give longer sentences for Violent and Capital offences. Not to allow excuses, like being drunk, or on drugs. As mitigating circumstances. Judges should stop considering reasons why offence was commited, and remove such offenders for as long as possible! Too many violent offenders are being given pathetic sentences, with minimum terms, Anyone convicted of serious sex crimes.Child murderes.paedophiles ect. Should not be able to receive compensation for any assaults commited on them whilst in prison. An added deterrent to commiting offences.
