We are calling for the Government to reconsider the suitability of police holding cells, and require skylights and pastel coloured walls implemented in all police holding cells.

We believe that many holding cells need improvement, and that holding cells can be particularly inappropriate for young or neurodivergent people. We believe that holding cells can be oppressive and make people feel inconsiderate, and that this is not acceptable when people being held may not have committed a crime.
