Closed GCSE English Literature amendments

Recently it has been announced that there are plans to remove American classics like To Kill a Mockingbird and Of Mice and Men from the GCSE English Literature course which I feel is unfairly limiting the choice of literature that students can study. I would like the Department of Education to consult with students and teachers alike on this topic and to then reconsider this decision based on the feedback from these sessions.
