Mrs Thatcher sold off cable areas to various US telecoms companies. When they merged under the guise of Cable and Wireless, New Labour granted them leave to stop increasing their important communications network.
Reselling these licences would create jobs in many areas, improve the current broadband performance and decrease the stranglehold over the pay TV, telephony and internet markets.
