The First Minister of Northern Ireland has publicly supported Pastor James McConnell following publication of racist and homophobic opinions.
In a society already losing ground on acceptance of difference, I believe the Secretary of State has a duty to ensure a minimum level of public responsibility from our First Minister and needs to apply a suitable sanction where this is not the case.
