This petition calls for opticians to be checked regularly to make certain that they are carrying out sight tests correctly. If it is found that they are not carrying out eye tests properly they should be banned from carrying out further sight tests until they have undergone rigorous retraining. If they fail the retraining, they should be banned from practising as an optician for life.
