Petition Make Winchester Capital of England
More details
London has become increasingly different from the rest of England - so much so that it no longer feels part of England. 37% of the population were born outside the UK (v 8.3% nationally) while the housing market has a life of its own.
Winchester was capital of England from the 5th century AD until the twelth century.
Other countries do not have their larget city as thier capital (best examples being the United States and Australia).
I believe it is time to recognise London is no longer representative of England by moving the capital to a place more recognised as "true England".
