Slow down and Move over Law

Numerous people are killed or seriously injured on our hard shoulders each year as the result of collisions where vehicles collide with stationary vehicles and their drivers.Vehicles / drivers at risk include stranded cars / trucks, highways agency, emergency service & specialist recovery vehicles who are trying to protect & rescue / remove stranded and accident damaged vehicles.We are asking for a change to the laws that apply to drivers to make it mandatory for road users to slow down and move over to the next lane on a dual carriageway or motorway when they see an emergency services or recovery vehicle on the hard shoulder with its emergency warning lights illuminated.
