Rejected petition Curbs on explicit headlines
More details
Would like the government to make newspaper editors accountable if explicit headlines appear on the front page ( eg Friday 27th June - Daily Mirror- Jimmy Savile) These depraved details are in eye line with impressionable young children. Pornograpy etc are kept on top shelves. Newspaper headlines reach those we need to protect.
This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
This is a matter for the respective newspapers - the Government does not interfere with what is in the press, if it is within the law.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
