In order to have a uniform approach the Treasury should allow a spouse to inherit the ISA wrapper as well as the assets which would save the surviving spouse much stress and costs at at time of great anxiety with minimal cost to the Treasury for a very few years during the rest of the spouse's lifetime.

It’s a great muddle and unfairness and it appears out of kilter with the fact that everything else within a marriage can be moved from spouse to spouse without the consequence of legal costs and Revenue form filling (Stressful enough at any time of life)
