Petition Add 1p to £X.99 prices to help deficit
More details
A petition for the government to place a 1p tax on every item sold in the United Kingdom that costs £X.99, with that 1p going directly to helping with the deficit.
It may sound crazy, but look at your shopping list, and count the number of items you purchased. Then count the number of other people that were in the store with you; then think of how many people shop at that store in a day, then think of how many branches that store has. Then think of how many different store chains there are across the country. You can see how it easily adds up.
Besides, when we pay for something that costs £9.99, we usually hand over a £10 note, and the penny just sits in our wallets for eternity anyway.
