Petition food voucher swipe card for benefit claimants

Having a food voucher/swipe card where funds the benefit recipient would usually receive in cash is automatically loaded onto the card per week allowing them to use it to purchase food and other household necessity’s i.e. cleaning products and toiletries (excluding alcohol, cigarettes/tobacco etc) from supermarkets and other participating stores.

This card could also be used in the same way to pay for gas, electricity and other household bills.

This would potentially reduce health risks and allow people that need help who are genuinely unable to work to support and provide for themselves and their family.
