Closed Empower the police to effectively tackle large scale public disturbance

Recent riots and copycat looting have shown that the police lack effective tools and powers to deal with crime on a large scale.

The police should be allowed to use more serious techniques for controlling large groups of crowds, such as water canon and rubber bullets, in extreme circumstances.

The law abiding people of London do not wish to see the fabric of society torn down around them whilst the police and politicians stand by and watch.
