Reducing VAT from 20% to 5% on Home Improvement works would:
Stimulate the economy.

Help to safeguard cash strapped home owners from using the cash only, no invoices, no guarantee,cowboy builders.
Homeowners would benefit from having qualified registered companies,(with the security of having a paper trail: invoices, guarantees etc.) being able to quote at a competitive rate.
It will kick start the economy and go a long way to solving the countries increasing cowboy builder problem.
