Petition kampala amendments

More details

This petition calls on the government;

a) to ratify both amendments on the crime of aggression together with the amendments on Article 8 (war crimes) adopted at the 2010 Review Conference of the ICC Rome Statute held in Kampala, Uganda and,

b) to incorporate these amendments into UK domestic law in order to make prosecution of the crime of aggression in the UK jurisdiction retrospective as well as prospective.

Thus, the petition calls for amendment of Chapter 17 of the International Criminal Court Act 2001, Section 70 of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 and any other relevant legislation to facilitate this process of making past and future crimes of aggression against other countries (as determined against the criteria of the UN Charter) prosecutable.
