Public employees received 1% increase in April 2013, For the 3 years previously public employees received no annual cost of living rise, resulting in salaries not keeping up with inflation.
This year the Government have again offered all public employees a 1% annual increase. Some local authority employees are the lowest paid in the UK. The Government should at least have the manners to sit round a table and discuss this with the employees and trade unions.
