The Peshmerga forces, the armed forces of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq are the sole defenders of the regions vibrant multi-ethnic and multi-religous character. They are the only disciplined force which has been able to stand and face down the extremist terrorists of the Islamic State. I urge the British Government to assist the Peshmerga forces logistically, militarily and morally in continuing there just fight. Britain participated in the Iraq War and owes it to the residents of Kurdistan Region to help them defend themselves and defend their democratic experiment from the forces of intolerance and hatred.
