Rejected petition The UK should switch to Central European Time, with GMT+1 in winter and GMT +2 in summer, to maximise evening daylight.
More details
The UK should switch to Central European Time, to be on the same time zone as most of central and western Europe, which makes sense from a business point of view. This will maximise the amount of available daylight in the evenings - currently, in mid- summer, the sun rises several hours before most people have got up. It would increase tourism and leisure opportunities, which is good for the ecomnnomy. It should reduce road accidents, and cut energy usage.
