Rejected petition Animal abuse/murder

I don't think enough punishment is done for people who abuse animals or sadly kill them,
Animals are living beings like us humans,but it seems people just get a slap on the wrist and get away with these crimes.
What I'm saying is,I want the government to consider a life sentence or atleast a 30 year one for any murder of an animal not including any ones that are used for slaughter.
Murder is murder,if a human can go to jail for killing another human,then a human can go to jail for killing or torturing an animal.
